At Empire 6, the Proximity Scanner is how we allow you to explore the space around our ship using our Shuttle. When you leave the ship for any reason, we call this an “Away Mission”.

Whenever you book the Shuttle for an Away Mission, you can pick your destination. This destination is one of the local planetoids (called Frontiers) within range of our ship. At any time, you can visit Command to view local space on the monitor there to get an idea for where you’d like to travel.

The following sections explain the process for both Exploring (seeing what’s out there from the safety of Command) and Scanning (you’ve booked a shuttle and are now choosing your Landing Zone).
